It merely takes good people to do nothing for evil to flourish in the world.
- paraphrased from Edmund Burke
Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about
things that matter.
Dr Martin Luther King
The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to
preach good tidings to the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that
are] bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance
of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
(KJV Isaiah 61:1-2)

For years now the education system in Australia has been one of apartheid as far as funding goes.
This has created huge inequities between state and private schools which has led to a vast
increase in the number of federally funded private schools with state funded government schools
unable to compete. OECD results show that this is having a negative effect on our overall results
in education achievement with a growing gap between the well off and the poor.

Commended is the article by Dr Simpson, a real teacher.

(I wrote this in 2001) But then and still now the decisions are not theirs!

Australia has one of the greatest percentages of foreign ownership in the
developed world. Our federal government gives preferred treatment to
foreign owned companies. Is it in the national interest to have so much of our
economy under foreign control? Do we need to buy back the farm?

But if each person passionately supported one just cause the face of this
world would be changed.
This site hopes to highlight a few causes and provide links to many more that you may consider.
